Members of the Harford County Sheriff's Office were called to the Bel Air pool at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, where there were reports of shots fired.
Instead, the investigation determined that no shots were ever fired, no weapon was used or evident at the pool, and instead, the sound of gunshots was played over a speaker, causing concern.
It is unclear what led to the sound of gunshots being played over the speaker. Investigators did not disclose if it was a prank or if the motive was more malevolent.
A minor was arrested and charged in connection to the incident, according to the sheriff's office.
On Tuesday, Aug. 16, investigators from the Harford County Sheriff's Office confirmed that there were no shots fired or weapons observed at the event at the pool club.
During the investigation into “shots fired,” police said that deputies were informed that a 15-year-old teen had assaulted a 13-year-old boy. The older teen was charged with assault.
